Its Culture day here at Run For Pompey weekend!
Beginning at 10am, take a self-guided tour of the Pompey Memorial, the historic jail and the picturesque gazebo and look-out point over the ocean.
Speeches from Chester Cooper, president of our title sponsor BAF financial and our sponsor, two time olympic gold medalist Pauline Davis Thompson inspired all who attended.
At 11am, Pompey historian and Bahamian leaders provided remarks to open Pompey Weekend Celebrations.
Following these remarks, participants headed to the Famous Big D’s, located just down the street, for refreshments and exciting conversations!

Race organizers visited Gerorgetown Primary!

Some of our race organizers visited Gerorgetown Primary today!
Tyrone Monroe and Kevin Taylor  spoke to students about Pompey and the race that will take place this coming Monday, October 12th which is Bahama’s National Hero’s day!
Kevin Taylor will be running the Ultra Marathon on Monday.

Besides creating a scholrarship for Exuma students, a part of the race’s proceeds will go towards hurricane recovery efforts on Long Island.

Great excitement and energy is being felt throughout Great Exuma for this inaugural event!

Hurricane Joaquin

A part of the Proceeds from the Run for Pompey​ #charityrun will be directed towards hurricane recovery efforts on Long Island following the aftermath of Joaquin.
